The responsible pet ownership means providing adequate habitat, food, hygiene, affection and especially veterinary care for your health. That's why we believe the veterinarian as a fundamental point and guide the lives of pets.
Today veterinary checks are no longer going to be sporadic and it are
going to be frequently to have your pets in their ideal conditions. That is why we recommend
that any individual cat or kitten should make their first veterinarian visit with their new
owners within the first week of cohabitation, at most the second week after it is adapted
to their new home.
All this assures to the "new owner" that the cat is
in good health and to the "breeder" that New Owners became
to have a responsible ownership of the animal.
In the first months of life visits to the Vet and the healthcare of animals are associated with important moments in the kitten´s development and aimed primarily at controlling the growth, general health, possible parasites - dewormed, and primarily to see if your general condition is conducive for the relevant vaccinations. In many cases when the health is optimal, vet visits coincide with the implementation dates of immunizations or vaccines shots.
At least twice a year owners must take the pet to the vet. Vet´s control depends directly on the animal's age, condition and criteria or advise of the acting profecional. Veterinarian is who must also determine the necessary controls and checks at his/her own discretion.

Vaccinations:
Cats need to be vaccinated to achieve an immune response that protects them in case that they will be in contact with any viruses. It protects and manages to mitigate the effects and even avoid infection.
The vaccine is a biological product used to obtain an artificially active immunization. It differs, therefore, passive immunization, which is the action of conferring immunity by administration of antibodies.
Immunity can be divided into:
- natural force, which is caused by infection
- artificial active, which is achieved by vaccination
- natural passive, which is obtained by transplacental passage of antibodies through the colostrum and mother to a new born
- artificial passive, which is produced by the administration of immunoglobulins or antibodies specific for certain diseases.
Vaccines contain antigens capable of sensitizing the immune system to generate an immunological memory that determines when the animal is exposed to the true infection, quickly activate specific defensive response by T and B lymphocytes. The immunity can be activated by antigens from live attenuated, inactivated, purified inactivated or subunit or fractions of antigens.
We usually vaccinate our kittens in their first year of life at least three doses of vaccine for rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia and chlamydia, called five times or Quintuple from Meriaux , and we repeat the revaccination one year after the last application. If your cat has outdoor access, contact with other cats or visit exhibitions, please consult your veterinarian about vaccination against feline leukemia and other diseases that may be necessary.
Always will be your "Veterinary Professional" who will determine the form, type, quality, quantity and brand of vaccines to be used in your animal.
